HALLOWEEN CREATIVITY SURVEY 2025

“Taking this survey was a creative moment for me!”

“Imagineering” Inspiration: Carving a pumpkin begins with removing the distracting goop in the middle and then carving out spaces to create an impression or image. TKonnect was interested in this metaphor as we explored connections between creativity and motivation in education.

Respondents came from schools from all over the world.  Independent Schools from the United States, International Schools with varied curricula and for profit and not for profit institutions were represented.  The average length of time taking the survey was 5 minutes.

43% of participants identified as working primarily with students

40% of participants identified as working primarily with colleagues

17% of participants identified as working primarily with systems

85% of participants have over 16 years of experience.

KEY TAKE-AWAYS:

Nearly all agreed that they were good sources of creative ideas and that creativity was important for their worklife. 78% agreed that they make time for lightbulb moments and nearly the same number agree that they allow inspirational moments to interrupt their schedule. Over 90% identified as risk takers and believed that they have fresh approaches to problems, search out new technologies and/or can imagine new ways to achieve goals or objectives. Everyone agreed (but for only 2 respondents) that creative moments improve their mood and help strengthen relationships and connections with others. There was also strong agreement that ingenuity is important in their lives.

It is interesting to note, however, that while so many have identified a belief in their innate creativity and its importance, less than half make time for creative pursuits.  Most (67%) felt they were most creative in the mornings

When asked for examples of when they were most creative, one respondent noted that making others feel good was an important and a creative achievement. Other interesting responses include:

·       Developing solutions on a day to day basis

·       Being part of a collaborative solution

·       Rebranding

·       Refitting older facilities for new purposes

·       Further education such as pursuing a Masters or Doctoral Degree

·       Timetabling and creating unique learning experiences

·       Designing Exploration stations, Senior Projects and Research Projects

·       Artwork and Writing Projects (including publication)

·       Organizing events and workshops

·       Developing outdoor learning spaces and repurposing furniture

·       Designing workflows and processes
